  • Name two organisms in which food material is broken down outside the body & absorbed. Name the enzyme which is present in infants but not in adults. What is transpiration pull?

    Q

    Sol:
Thank you for using LearnNext Q&A forum. Please post one question at a time for clear and prompt answers.
    1) Extracellular digestion: Organisms like mushroom and bread mould secrete enzymes and digest the food outside. The digested food is absorbed into the body during growth. This process is known as extracellular digestion. It is performed by saprophytes.
    2) Transpiration pull: Plants absorb water from the soil aided by transpiration pull. Transpiration pull is explained by Dixon and Joly theory. Dixon- Joly theory is also known as Cohesion-Tension theory. This theory is based on the upward movement of water from the root to aerial parts of the plant body which is called as ascent of sap or often called translocation of water.Water molecules stick to one another through cohesion forming a column in the xylem. The negative pressure created by transpiration pull exerts a force on these water particles causing their upward movement in xylem.
    3) Renin is the milk curdling enzyme present in only human infants as they rely on milk for nutrition. It is also abundantly present in calf gastric juice. It is absent in adults.

  • What is blood clotting?

    Q

The aswer of our question is platelets.
Our blood has three parts that are --
Red Blood Cells (RBC's) which helps in transpotation of minerals and food to all parts of the body.
White Blood Cells (WBC's) which helps in fighting against diseases.
Platelets helps in formation of cloting. When you got a cut the blood starts relesing so in this case to stop the blood the clot is formed with the help of platelets.

  • Find two numbers ?

    Q

    Sol :
Let x ,y are two numbers.

Given that whose sum is 27 and product is 182.

    x  + y = 27 --------------(1) and xy = 182 ----------(2)

    x - y = √[(x  + y )2 - 4xy]

    x - y = √[(27 )2 - 4x182]

    x - y = √(729- 728)

    x - y = 1 -----------(3)

Solving (1) and (3) we get

    x = 14 and y = 13

    ∴ The numbers are 13 ,14.
