  • Concurrency in Traingles

    Q

    ∠ A = 2a and ∠B = 2b (let) and Join D and E.
    AB = CD and ∠ B = 2 ∠C (given)
    So, ∠ C = b.
    In ∆ BEC , we have
    ∠EBC = ∠ECB = y
    So, EB = EC ………(i)
    In ∆ ABE and ∆ DCE , we have
    AB = DC
    ∠ABE = ∠DCE = y
    and BE = CE (from (i))
    so, ∆ABE ≅ ∆DCE .
    so, AE = DE and ∠BAE = ∠EDC = 2a (by cpct)
    Now, in ∆AED ,
    AE = DE
    So, ∠ EAD = ∠EDA = a.
    So, ∠ADC = ∠EDA + ∠EDC = a + 2a = 3a. …(ii)
    ∠ADC = ∠DAB + ∠DBA (ex. Angle)
    3a = a + 2b
    So, a = b ….(iii)
    Now, in ∆ABC , we have
    ∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180°
    2a + 2b + b = 180°
    2a + 2a + a = 180° (from eqn.(iii))
    5a = 180°
    So, a = 36°.
    So, ∠BAC = 2a = 72°.

  • m2-3n-+2 and m2+m-6

    Q

    I think question is not correct and not complete.
    I think we have to find LCM and HCF of m2-3m-2 and m2+m-6
    First factorize it
    m2-3m+2 = (m-1)(m-2)
    m2+m-6 = (m+3)(m-2)

    LCM = (m-1)(m-2)(m+3)
    HCF = (m-2)
