The theme for the written Green Olympiad for classes IV and V will be “Nature and Us” and the quiz is scheduled to be held in the month of December, 2013.
The participants would be awarded with the participation certificate while the winners can look forward to exciting prizes.
The Green Olympiad has been conducted by TERI since 1999 for students of classes VIII, IX and X. It has been conducted in association with the MoEF (Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India) along with a corporate sponsor.
The aim behind conducting TERI is to create a wide awareness of the impact of environmental degradation thereby ensuring the youth to play a proactive role to address the major environmental issues. Children today ought to take special interest in following the traditional standard of living with compassion and modesty to help conserve the environment- as told by Dr. R K Pachauri, the Director General of TERI.
For getting yourself registered, contact your school as individual registrations will not be accepted. Also, a school in order to participate in the same, will have to provide with a minimum of 20 registrations. For further queries, one can visit the project website http://www.teriin.org/olympiad
